Welcome to Can You Etch It, the web’s first laser engraving series that specializes in laser engraving strange, unique, and even common items. Today I’ll create an a picture frame from mat board.
Think back to your last vacation. Remember all the good times (and forget about all the troubles). Those memories are priceless. Maybe you took some pictures and every time you see those pictures, you smile. The problem is, all those pictures are either in a box in the closet or on your computer. You want to display them for your friends and family to see but you can’t find a picture frame that is the right size, shape, or design. Laser engraving to the rescue…
It can be a struggle to find picture frames that complement the picture they hold. Some are not the right shape, others are not very interesting. Life is too short for uninteresting stuff. Why not personalize a picture frame or better yet, create a custom laser engraved and cut frame? The frame can have little cues that will remind you of those great memories and draw the attention of friends and family.
Why create a laser engraved mat board picture frame?
Around my home, we don’t have very many photographs displayed. We rely on digital cameras to capture our memories. For those physical photographs we do show off, we want to display them in a special way. Normal frames will not due. That is one of the great things about laser engraving: we can use our memories and specific size needs to create the perfect frame.
The design that was chosen for the picture frame is a wolf howling at the moon. I’m not too much of a wolf person myself but my wife likes them and this picture frame design was influenced by her. We all do things for the special people in our lives and this time, the result was great.
Here is the video showing the picture frame being engraved. The engraving took more than 5 minutes to complete so the video is sped up. At the end of the video you can see the final result. For more pictures, check out the end of the post.
