Laser Creations – Cardboard head with secret compartment

I like a good secret compartment.  Maybe it is the idea that you can hide something that no one knows about or maybe it is dreams of being a secret agent.  Either way, having a secret book box or a spray can that is really a safe is way cool.  I’m lucky that my kids agree.

Sometimes, while searching the web and reading blogs, you happen upon some really great content.  Today was one of those days.  While reading the Ponoko blog, I saw an instructable about using a laser cutter to make a 3D model of a head (the author’s son’s head to be precise).  Not only that, but making the head sculpture a secret compartment.  Talk about using your head.  Here is a link to the instructable.

Check out the instructable and leave a comment for carlbass.  I’m sure he would appreciate hearing from you about his amazing project.  While you are there, check out his other great instructables including a very interesting mechanical iris with a video.

Do you have an interesting project you just have to try?  Leave a comment and let me know.
