Laser Last Week – 02-26-12

Welcome to Laser Last Week where we explore some of the new information being published around the web dealing with laser engraving and assorted services.  I focus on the unique and remarkable, not the mass produced commodity.  This week had 7 links that were interesting enough to make the list. If you have found any that I have missed, please let me know in the comments.  Enjoy.

Laser Last Week Links

02-26-12Get Personal with Laser Engraving – Rite Way Manufacturing – A great gift idea; personalized laser engraved pen set with case.

02-28-12Laser engraved 16 inch by 16 inch logo – Dribbble – A very interesting laser engraved logo on a 16 inch by 16 inch board.  The work took an hour to engrave.  Great work by Kyle Chaplin

03-01-12Bonita Springs veterans memorial walkway bricks to be installed – News-Press – Laser engraved bricks for walkway.  Unfortunately, no picture, but it is great that laser engraving is being used to customize bricks.

03-02-12Starlite Laser Etching – Dribbble – Interesting laser cut and engraved acrylic coaster.  I really like how they took the picture, placing the coaster in the grass.  Very nice

03-02-12Metal Stamp – Laser Litho Art – Kickstarter – Here is a Kickstarter (crowdsourcing) project that involves laser engraved commemoration art in a technical writing and diagram format.  Amazing examples.  I personally think too much of the funds will go for licensing, but that is just my opinion and a guess.

03-03-12Laser engraving a MacBook Pro – YouTube – Nice video laser engraving a MacBook Pro.  The motion of the laser is very interesting to me as it resembles the motion of a pencil when sketching.  About half way through the video, the laser head gets in the way, but it is still an interesting video.

03-03-12 – B-I-O…All About Laser Engraving Wedding Invitations – Asian Fusion Weddings – Great laser engraved wedding invitations.  The images are not by the site, but the write up with the pictures is interesting.

I hope you learned something about laser engraving today and how it can be used.  What was your favorite link?  Leave a comment and let me know.
