Welcome to Laser Last Week where we explore some of the new information being published around the web dealing with laser engraving and assorted services. The focus is on the unique and remarkable, not the mass produced commodity. This week there were 4 links that were interesting enough to make the list. If you have found any that I have missed, please let me know in the comments. Enjoy.
Laser Last Week Links
- 6-14-12 – Laser etched Morpheus Vimana – YouTube – Just when you think you have seen it all, here is something new; a laser engraved bike frame. More impressive since most of the lasers you would typically see are too small to fit a bike frame. How cool is that
- 6-14-12 – Rhythm Laser Etched Signage – PotatoPress – Here is an example of large scale laser engraving in action. This sign, engraved with the Rhythm logo, was laser engraved on reclaimed lumber and used as a sign. It’s hard to tell, but the sign looks like it is about 4 feet by 6 feet with the logo being nearly 4 feet in diameter. Very interesting sign.
- 6-12-12 – How do you make the BADASS more badass? – Milwaukee Makerspace – According to the page, add lasers. Not sure what the BADASS is, but the page is about using a laser engraver to help with the PCB (printed circuit board) etching and fabrication. One more thing you can do with a laser engraver.
- 6-12-12 – Laser engraving on time capsule – CustomMade – Looking for a unique gift idea for a wedding? How about a custom laser engraved time capsule. These hand crafted works of art are sure to be remembered for years to come
Although this next item was found via Facebook, it was so impressive that I just had to include it:
Tan Leather iPad Smart Cover laser engraved with a photo by In A Flash Laser – Facebook – Take a look at the detail and quality. This is one of those gifts that will amaze the recipient and everyone who sees it.
I hope you learned something about laser engraving today and how it can be used. What was your favorite link? Leave a comment and let me know.
